The Vision

Inspired by the bride's family's relationship to gardening and naturalism, the focal point of this wedding were installations of greenery and living plants. An overgrown secret garden was concealed behind the ceremony backdrop. The result was a chic and elegant garden party with a focus on wild, naturalistic beauty and refined luxurious details.

The Venue

The Commodore Perry Estate, an Auberge Resorts property, is one of Austin's historical landmarks and provides a serene view of nature in the middle of the city. The unique rooms and beautiful landscaped gardens are a perfect modern reinterpretation of this ten acre residential estate.

The Ceremony

For the ceremony, we brought to life a wild and dreamlike installation, in collaboration with Verve Event Planning. It was a surreal and bold vision we came up with when challenged by the architectural detail of the space. Serracinna’s solution was nearly too grand to implement: A full-scale secret garden room hidden by floor to ceiling drapery. As the evening transitioned into the celebration, the drapery was drawn back to unveil an immersive seating room, a breathtaking creative triumph led by the creative director of Verve, Barbara Shorts. It was a stunning feat of artistry, a collaboration on a massive scale, one that left me bursting with pride for Serracinna’s design contribution. For a final touch of poetic beauty, the bride’s father lovingly replanted the installation’s maidenhair ferns into his own garden, a living memory of this extraordinary night!

The Reception

Under a sailcloth-style tent, tables were dressed with crisp ivory napkins, handwritten name cards, silver flatware, crystal glasses, a profusion of candles, and oversized floral arrangements, which overflowed with foraged wild passion flower vine, a Texas native plant. The surrounding landscape featured the perfectly serene view, harmonizing with the styling of the event to create an enchanting and indelible celebration.
