The Proper Hotel

Fall in Austin

As Seen In: The Anti-Bride

The Vision

Jasmine, a photographer, and Jack, a musician, wanted their wedding to be fun, bold, and whimsical. The vibe was effortlessly cool, with the guests dressed to impress. Reflecting the couple’s non-traditional approach, tattoo artists were on site offering flash tattoos all night long. The rock-and-roll feel of this wedding allowed friends and family to let loose and celebrate in style.

The Venue

The Austin Proper Hotel sets the stage for an ambiance that is anything but ordinary. Forget your typical ballroom – this space is elegance with an edge. The space shifts effortlessly into The Quill, the hotel’s tucked-away lounge. Quill feels like the perfect space to unwind in style, illuminated by moody red light and disco balls.

The Ceremony

This ceremony’s combination of a dramatic floor-to-ceiling fabric backdrop, a candle-lined aisle, large urns of messy monster greens, and quirky accents like twisting cucumbers, created a celebration full of personality and style.

The Reception

The wedding centerpieces were unapologetically creative. turning each table into a miniature art gallery. Each table featured its own unique centerpiece – handmade faux cake crafted by the bride herself, Jasmine, owner of Pretty Shitty Cakes. These vibrant and whimsical faux cakes reflect her artistic flair and added a personal touch. Colorful bud vases, adorned with delicate bows, lent bursts of charm and playfulness. An abundance of flickering candles completed the scene, casting a warm, inviting glow. Together, the artistic cakes, polished vases, and romantic candlelight created a magical ambiance, making the decor unforgettable.
